Dacia Slogan / Dacia Tagline: Automobile Dacia S.A. is a Romanian car manufacturer that takes its name from the historic region that constitutes much of present-day Romania. The company was founded in 1966, and has been a subsidiary of the French car manufacturer Renault since 1999. In 1999, the Romanian government sold Dacia to the French car manufacturer Groupe Renault. From January 2021 onwards the Dacia company became part of Renault’s Dacia-Lada business unit. In May 2022, Renault sold Lada’s parent company AvtoVAZ to Russian state-owned institute NAMI.

The Uzină de Autoturisme Pitești (UAP) company, which later became known as Dacia, was established in 1966. at 1968, the primary Dacia factory was opened at Colibași (today known as Mioveni), close to Pitești. Dacia inherited the Renault 12’s tooling and fundamental designs.
It generated the most income of any firm in Romania and accounted for 8% of all exports made by the nation in 2018. Dacia sold 537,074 passenger and commercial vehicles in 2021.
The company’s only plant, which also houses its headquarters, is situated in Mioveni, Romania, and has an annual manufacturing capacity of 350,000 automobiles. Bodywork, painting, assembly, mechanical and chassis, foundry, etc. are only a few of the divisions.
It collaborates with the testing facility in Titu, which was established in 2010, as well as the Bucharest-based Renault Technologie Roumanie engineering centre, which was established in 2006 and includes a styling office called Renault Design Central Europe.
